"The Sonosopher" is the tentative title of a full-length, feature documentary film that is currently in production. This film will document the life and creative works of poet, polyartist, sonosopher, scholar, teacher, mentor...Alex Caldiero. The documentary and this blog are a portion of a greater, ongoing effort to record, document, and archive Alex's life and works.

HOWL, 50th Anniversary

One of the most remarkable events I have ever witnessed. There's a good film of the event that might have some good scenes for the documentary.

I really wish I could have seen this performance...I've heard legendary tales of it. I'd also love to see the footage and use it in the documentary if at all possible. Do you happen to know who has the original footage of that event??? Who to contact...etc.

Alex would know about the original footage. I've got a version on DVD.

The DVD is in my office at the college. Come by early next year and I'll loan it to you.

This was an amazing event. Some of us from Alex's Beat class attended...and toward the end Alex had us chanting HOLY, HOLY, HOLY over and over again from our seats. A rare chance for audience participation.

And by the way...Scott Abbott's introduction that night was a thing of beauty.
